Communication

Communication is an art – as a way of conveying the message from the top to the bottom, from the company to the client and … VICE VERSA, and in people-to-people encounters

Demand management and communication as such – you need to know how to support others and be aware of your demands. Speak up, listen and bet on co-creation. Otherwise cooperation will never fly off. Disappointment will come faster than you think.

Always reflect on disparities in the level of knowledge – ask probing questions, be brave enough to admit that you may not know something. For me this courage is part of professional ethics.

Communication: horizontal vs. vertical

”It is important even on a lower level where we are aiming at influencing people’s behavior: employees are more engaged if they see that they contribute with simple work to the bigger picture.”

Way of Work

Less is more – sometimes the critical part of our job is to focus on what is the most important. This fosters communication with others gives you the chance to understand the key message.

80-20 – The Pareto principle (also known as the 80–20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity) claims that, for many events, roughly 80% of effects come from 20% of causes. It was proposed by Joseph M. Juran, Business-management consultant, who named it after Vilfredo Pareto – an Italian economist who observed in 1906 that 80% of the land in Italy was in the hands of 20% of its population. Pareto developed the principle by observing that only 20% of the pea pods in his garden contained 80% of all the peas.

This is a common rule of thumb in business. For instance, ‘80% of your sales is generated by 20% of your clients’. Mathematically speaking, the 80-20 rule is roughly followed by the power law distribution (also known as ‘Pareto distribution’) for a particular set of parameters. Many natural phenomena have been shown empirically to exhibit such a distribution.

Rules of simpilicity – in order to create something powerful, be prepared and spend time beforehand. Just be prepared. It will pay off.

”I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.”

Mark Twain

Elevator sales pitch is a speech or statement is a short summary used define a person, profession, product, service, organization or event and its value proposition in a swift and simple way.

Slow is fast – it takes time to reach more sustainable results. This is the paradox of quarterly results and long term planning. How to manage your Board when quarterly review results seem to be the most preoccupying to you? One way of getting there is to rely on continuous improvement with the agile approach based on listening to your customers and your team.

”Take your time and reflect – use your brain.”
